Others? [them going out on a shuttle is slightly less worrisome than being yoinked by the space bridge. maybe? actually, it's equally bad.] If they have willingly gone with a group, then perhaps it's just a supply run or an excursion out nearby.

I would assume it is. Given the stories I have heard of such excursions, verifying where they went in the event that we need to retrieve them might be in order.
