Optimus, while Heatman is laughing, quickly picks up the axe and deactivates the blade, then shoves the handle back into his subspace where it belongs. That's that. He looks back over at the joke, which makes him nod with bright optics. "Yes, you got me. I'm very burned."

Right, he should probably offer another one to cover for grabbing his axe back. That sounds like the right thing to do.

"Do you know the problem with binary jokes? They're either funny or they're not!"

Heat blinked for a second or two before understanding hit him and he ducked his head down with another burst of giggling laughter. He pressed the laughs into his hands like a secret, and crinkled his optics at Optimus with a big smile.

"You're a really good you, mister Optimus!" He declared. "I bet everybody comes to find you when they're sad cause you make things nice!" He nodded very seriously with pursed lips, though it threatened to curl into a smile anyway. "So I'll tell you another joke so things are nicer for you and you can make things nicest! Um. Um. Oh! Have you seen my microchip? Only, it's very small and it's lunchtime, so maybe somebody ate it! Do you get it? Was I funny?"

He thinks people do sometimes voluntarily spend time around him. That counts. He really should make some more proper friends that aren't Megatron or Elita, though...

"You were. I do get it, very well done," he says, with a firm nod. "Thank you for understanding, Heatman."
